Julie Beveridge lives and writes in Brisbane.
She has had two successful spoken word productions, Everything I Don’t Want To Be Known For (Capillaries Festival, QUT, 2002) and Something Like A Metaphor (Straight Out Of Brisbane Festival, 2003).
Julie reads regularly at SpeedPoets (www.speedpoets.zap.to) and has been a featured poet at Sunshine Coast’s OuTsideRS as well as doing readings as part of the Bryon Bay Writer’s Festival 05, Tasmanian Poetry Festival 05 and at various events in Brisbane, Ipswich, Nambour, Melany and Bulimba.
In 2005 she released an audio collaboration with Brisbane composer Chris Perren, Champagne On Arrival.
Her work has appeared in several local zines and can be found online at www.vibewire.net.au, retortmagazine.com and Contemporary Haibun Online.
Her first publication Rock’n’Roll Tuxedo was launched at the Queensland Poetry Festival: spoken in one strange word 2005.
