After early success in the Australian freestyle battle scene (2002 Queensland Stealth Mag MC Battle Champion & 4th in Nationals), Julez went on to solidify his reputation in the Australian hip-hop scene with his debut release, the News Ep, which received extensive local and national airplay and rave reviews across the country.
In late 2004 Julez teamed up with fellow Brisbane emcee Dragonfly to form The Sewing Circle Mentality, going on to release their genre-bending EP Beef City in early 2005. The two quickly became known for their dynamic stage show, commanding presence, and formidable freestlyle abilities.
Over the last three years Julez has preformed at such festivals as the National Sound Summit (03-04), the National Young Writers Festival (03-04), Livid (03), the Queensland Poetry Festival (03-04), Straight Out Of Brisbane (03-04), and The Woodford Folk Festival (04-05, 05-06).
Julez has also performed with such International hip-hop acts as Buck 65, Sage Francis, Harry Love, Tim Dog, Murs, Luckyiam PSC, Omni & More.
