alicia sometimes has worked as a bookie's bag lady, played bass in a hula hoop grunge band and has always loved words with music.

She is the co-editor of the Australian literary journal (with CD) (going down swinging). Her first book, kissing the curve was published in 2003 by Five Islands Press.

She is co-organiser of the first ever national radio slam on Radio National. Emilie Zoey Baker, Sean M Whelan, Terry Jaensch and alicia won the Sleepers/Melbourne Writers' Festival Team Slam Championship in 2004.
