Offering up a cornucopia of words, performance, video, face paint, music, theatre and even spontaneous breakdancing, the Carnival Of Broken Rhyme closed the Overload Festival with a bang last August.
And the fireworks really got going when Victoria's Legend Of The Overfiends went up against NSW team House-Cat Havoc in the grand finale - the inaugural Title Bout of the Word Wrestling Federation Team Poetry Slam!
With the top floor of FAD Gallery packed to the rafters, and a huddle around the video feed on the 2nd floor of those who couldn't squeeze up the stairs, 5 audience judges were cruel, but fair, to the 2 teams vying for their city's honour.
The House-Cats, buff and rehearsed, brought the house down with their inspirational final group piece, and won a deserved victory.
